PE and Sport Premium Overview 2016-2017
The Government is providing additional funding of £150 million for the Academic Year 2016 to 2017 to improve the provision of Physical Education (PE) and Sport in primary schools. This funding, provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, will be allocated to primary school Head Teachers. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and Sport in schools.
PE and Sport Premium Funding for 2016-2017
In the Academic Year 2016 to 2017 most schools with primary age pupils receive the PE and Sport Premium. Schools receive PE and Sport Premium funding based on the number of pupils in Years 1 to 6. Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £8,000 and an additional payment of £5 per pupil.
In 2016 to 2017, Oxclose Primary Academy received £8,875 of PE and Sport Premium funding to improve the PE and Sport offered at our school.
