PERSONAL, SOCIAL, HEALTH EDUCATION (PSHE)
Personal, social, health education (PSHE) is an important and necessary part of all pupils’ education. This non-statutory subject is core to staff and pupils at Oxclose Primary Academy and is integral to teaching in all subject areas. The flexibility of the coverage enables us to adapt teaching in this subject to meet the needs of the children.
We believe that PSHE is important to help children become the citizens of the future, preparing them for life in modern Britain. They need the opportunity to develop skills to ensure they can make informed choices, interact with others and deal with a range of situations.
Children in each year group will cover areas such as e-safety, health and diet, anti-bullying, interacting with others, feelings, concerns and aspirations, transitions and supporting charities as well as incorporating our relationship and sex education (RSE) and spiritual, moral, social and cultural curriculum.
